About us

Komes company specializes in the ultrasonic testing of thickness measurement and the evaluation of the technical condition of ships and other steel constructions ( tanks, pipelines, bridges). We can make underwater thickness measurements with the help of qualified divers.

Due to accidents in the past connected with corrosion fractures, Classification Societies developed the detailed plan of the inspection which must be done during annual, intermediate and class renewals. Our examinations are performed by the qualified engineering staff with the long-term practice in Non-Destructive Testing. Our surveyors command English language and constantly participate in internal training program consisting of hull construction and repair knowledge. Additionally they hold personal certificates in:

  • Non-Destructive Testing level II and level III, according to EN 473;
  • Thickness measurement of ship’s construction and reporting requirements according to Lloyd's Register of Shipping.

We use modern, certified equipment produced by leading manufactures with the possibility of the measurement through painting covers and equipment guaranteeing conditions of safety on a workstation (helmets, devices to measurement of the oxygen content and other gasses in enclosed spaces) which conform to European standards.

We have the internal procedures in accordance with the ISO 9001:2008 quality management system.

  • Estimation of technician condition of the sea-going and inland vessels.

Price of carried out services by our company includes works associated with collecting data shipboard, performing essential calculations, dry dock specification preparation and steel estimation and drawing up the report in the scope required with adequate rules and delivering it to the principal.

The cost of performing works taken up is a result of individual arrangements with the customer.
